Jim is a former president of his local association and state association. He participated in many leadership teams and chaired nearly every committee at the local and state association level, including Chairman of Pennsylvania’s RPAC Committee.

In 2001, Jim served as Regional Vice President of Region 2. He chaired the Real Property Operations Committee (RPOC) during the development and construction of the Washington, DC headquarters facility.

Jim chaired the Reserves Investment (RIS) Subcommittee and Strategic Investment Reserves (SIR) Committee. Overseeing NAR’s short and long term investments allowed Jim to help direct the future economic well-being of the association.

In 2011, Jim exceeded goals set by the RPAC trustees and President Ron Phipps through his role as Major Investor Council Chair/Liaison.

Proven

Jim served as NAR Treasurer from 2008 to 2010. As Treasurer he managed a $125 million dollar budget with assets exceeding $200 million. Jim did an excellent job communicating the association's finances to its members. As Treasurer, he participated in NAR Leadership team responsibilities and decisions, further preparing him to be President in 2016.

A Board Member of the REALTORS® Federal Credit Union, Jim has been involved in many of the aspects of starting the first REALTOR® Credit Union. Continuing to serve on the Board allows him ongoing involvement in the management and success of the first and only internet - based credit union in the United States.

As Chair of the Real Property Operations Committee, Jim led the committee that developed and built the landmark NAR headquarters in Washington, DC, which went into service in 2004. The headquarters was the first privately constructed office building in the city to earn a certification from the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System - obtaining "Silver Certification."

Experience

Jim oversaw a budget exceeding $125 million during his three-year term as NAR Treasurer. During this time, Jim served as a member of the Leadership Team, which allowed him take part in day-to-day decision making that typically only elected leadership are afforded.

Serving as a member of the Executive Committee for eight years, Jim had the opportunity to participate in high-level discussions that only those appointed to the Committee will be part of.

Jim gained intimate knowledge in the commercial arena and government affairs division while he was appointed by three different presidents to liaison positions within the association. Additionally, many presidents have appointed Jim to numerous PAGs, Task Forces, and special efforts.

Jim oversaw Sentri-lock box financing issues in his role as a member of the Sentri-lock Financial Board. He has served as a member of the REALTORS® Federal Credit Union Board, RIN Board, Second Century Ventures Board, NAR Representative to the Real Estate Roundtable Board, NAR Representative to the ICREA Board, and Reaume Foundation Board of Trustees.
